THANKS

57 | Ceres Magazine | Oct/Nov 2015

Every project starts with an idea, but for the idea to blossom, one needs suggestion, feedback, guidance, advice, and so on. There must also be a drive behind an idea, a passion, or at least a belief that a simple thought, once born from the wildest imagination, will materialize and develop into a product. This phase is often the forgotten shore on which lots of ideas wash up to dieunrealistic, no longer wanteddiscarded for many reasons. Fortunately, in the case of Ceres Magazine, the idea that sprang in my head two months ago came to fruition. Though, it would not have happened without the help of some great people.

First and foremost, I want to thank Scott Holmes and Genae Jefferson for their help and encouragement. Scott for his feedback on starting this venture, for his invaluable time spent reading and proofing my articles on the train, for the good laughs about everything (and anything of course), and for his friendship, which I truly value. Genae for being so high spirited, for adding up on my already insane ideas, for being as motivated and enthusiastic about the creation of this magazine as I am, for her suggestions, input and contribution, for her encouragements when I had doubts, and for just being the fantastic person that she isalways willing to try something new and always ready to take on a challenge. I'm blessed to count her among my friends.

I thank Doug Jeffrey (Editor for World of Firepower and Knives Illustrated) for listening and encouraging me during the development of the magazine's concept, checking on its progress, and giving me his advice as an editor. Thanks to my "new BFF," Richard Olson (Design Director for Entrepreneur), for giving me a frank, honest critique about the look and layout of my magazine, and for his suggestions and advice. Guidance from professionals of such esteemed magazines is always an asset for budding publishers.

Thanks to Jim for listening to my endless subject development updates, and to Mike for having to overhear that same conversation.

Also, I can't forget my "Test/Beta group," Veronica Woods, Rich McMasters, Kevin Bustamante, and Rosalind Moore, who so kindly and so patiently went along with my: "I've got another resolved technical issue to test!" You guys totally rock for being so willing and diligent to help. Ceres Magazine is now “live,” and I'm sureas Rich so casually mentionedthat I'm going to encounter a brand new set of technical issues to tame. So keep your smartphones ready! I know where to find you, guys! On bus line 21.

Thanks to Suzanne Dobrijevich for sharing her passion, as Ceres Magazine Makeup and Skin Care columnist. I'm honored to count her in.

Finally, Last but not least, thanks to Cristina Cancino for pushing her husband Rick (Ricardo) Cancino into this "crazy" adventure, as Ceres Magazine’s Illustrator. I'm honored to count him on my team. He is talented, and will do great! May the journey with Ceres Magazine be a successful one for him too.

Again, thanks to all of you for your support and kindness. With love.
